I have people tell me all the time they want to do a boudoir shoot for a significant other…once in a while, I get my favorite ones, the ones that want to do it for them…who don’t feel the need to validate their reason for doing something for themselves! I am in the category of women who are at the age where I no longer have to prioritize my happiness around my child, or my husband, or worry what my family will think if I want to do something that makes me appreciate being alive and healthy and enjoying being myself, unapologetically, I do it!! It is such an empowering experience to be so vulnerable and open. To be scared and nervous, and do the thing anyway…and then to do it and OWN it…even better!!!
I recently had another shoot done, my husband did the photographs and they are amazing, yes, I am curvy, no, I am not as young as I used to be, no, I do not care that my co workers have all seen my ass now lol!! They are an example to you, I want every woman to have confidence, to be trusting of another person and open yourself to being a stronger, better version of yourself. It truly is amazing.
There were shot in one of my most favorite places, Asheville NC. I met the most amazing make up artist there her name is Leah Milan and I cannot wait to get back up there and meet more fabulous people!
I love love love helping all women from all walks of life, embrace the beauty of being alive and powerful! Let me show you what I can do for YOU!!
Let’s be real for a minute…many of us always have some goals for the new year and things we want to change in our life for the better, but, most people don’t stick to it, that is why they make the same ones every year lol!! I am choosing to not set “resolutions” for the year, but I do have some things I will improve on.
I believe it starts with habits…we need new habits that help us get to the ultimate goal. Say for instance, you want to lose weight, you should get in the habit of planning what you will eat everyday. The next component is discipline…make yourself stick to what you want (this is where I drive the struggle bus hard!!!) I think the third thing to help, is accountability, find a buddy that will make it into a friendly competition that will benefit both of you. I am mainly writing this to myself today!! I have some major goals I want to see come to fruition this year, and I know what I need to do. I am going to start by putting these three words on sticky notes around my house, studio, and in my car…habits, discipline, and accountability and take them seriously.
What are some goals that you will reach this year? What will be your reward to yourself when you reach them? I feel that is important as well and I have several different things that I am going to give myself for different milestones I reach…they include a boudoir shoot with one of my favorite photographers (you didn’t think I was going to write and NOT throw something about boudoir in here did you, haha), another tattoo (sorry, not sorry hubby), a me day that includes a massage and mani/pedi, and a day trip to somewhere new. I am the kind of person I have to have something to look forward to, these rewards are also going to be placed in conspicuous places for me too!
What ideas do you have to help you stay on track for becoming a better YOU? I would love all the support and help you can give!!!
Happy New Year to you all and I can’t wait to see you succeed!!!
