Remember…

Hey people!!! I hope you are all staying mentally and physically healthy during this time of uncertainty.  It truly is frustrating for everyone and pretty confusing. Anyway, this too shall pass and I am planning for the future.

Remember, you are not alone in this chaos, you will get to go on with your life and make it even more lively than before, you will get to hug people again, and go visit with friends and family…There are so many things that I cannot WAIT to do again…live music, hanging out on Market Street, travel, and of course GET BEHIND MY CAMERA!!!

So…with that being said….

We had a little fun last month when we did our quarantine shoot to announce that we were closing the studio for the month of April, you can find it here, if you didn’t see it, we had a great time shooting that day!!

So, to announce commencement of our services, we are offering a special deal!  We truly want every woman to experience the power of having a boudoir session, about 4-5 hours of pampering and it being all about her, and confidence that cannot be measured!!  For a $100 deposit, that will be given back to you on the day of your reveal (usually about two weeks after the shoot).  There is no obligation to purchase any photos or products on that day either!  You have up to a year to book your session and we are here for you every step of the way!!  Go to our website to connect with us today, we can’t wait to show you how beautiful you are!!

How about a little black and white love today….give us some feedback!!

xoxo,

Why?

I have people tell me all the time they want to do a boudoir shoot for a significant other…once in a while, I get my favorite ones, the ones that want to do it for them…who don’t feel the need to validate their reason for doing something for themselves!  I am in the category of women who are at the age where I no longer have to prioritize my happiness around my child, or my husband, or worry what my family will think if I want to do something that makes me appreciate being alive and healthy and enjoying being myself, unapologetically, I do it!!  It is such an empowering experience to be so vulnerable and open. To be scared and nervous, and do the thing anyway…and then to do it and OWN it…even better!!!

I recently had another shoot done, my husband did the photographs and they are amazing, yes, I am curvy, no, I am not as young as I used to be, no, I do not care that my co workers have all seen my ass now lol!!  They are an example to you, I want every woman to have confidence, to be trusting of another person and open yourself to being a stronger, better version of yourself.  It truly is amazing.

There were shot in one of my most favorite places, Asheville NC.  I met the most amazing make up artist there her name is Leah Milan and I cannot wait to get back up there and meet more fabulous people!

I love love love helping all women from all walks of life, embrace the beauty of being alive and powerful!  Let me show you what I can do for YOU!!

New decade, let’s do this!!!

Hello beautiful people!

Let’s be real for a minute…many of us always have some goals for the new year and things we want to change in our life for the better, but, most people don’t stick to it, that is why they make the same ones every year lol!!  I am choosing to not set “resolutions” for the year, but I do have some things I will improve on.

I believe it starts with habits…we need new habits that help us get to the ultimate goal.  Say for instance, you want to lose weight, you should get in the habit of planning what you will eat everyday.  The next component is discipline…make yourself stick to what you want (this is where I drive the struggle bus hard!!!) I think the third thing to help, is accountability, find a buddy that will make it into a friendly competition that will benefit both of you.  I am mainly writing this to myself today!!  I have some major goals I want to see come to fruition this year, and I know what I need to do.  I am going to start by putting these three words on sticky notes around my house, studio, and in my car…habits, discipline, and accountability and take them seriously.

What are some goals that you will reach this year?  What will be your reward to yourself when you reach them?  I feel that is important as well and I have several different things that I am going to give myself for different milestones I reach…they include a boudoir shoot with one of my favorite photographers (you didn’t think I was going to write and NOT throw something about boudoir in here did you, haha), another tattoo (sorry, not sorry hubby), a me day that includes a massage and mani/pedi, and a day trip to somewhere new.  I am the kind of person I have to have something to look forward to, these rewards are also going to be placed in conspicuous places for me too!

What ideas do you have to help you stay on track for becoming a better YOU?  I would love all the support and help you can give!!!

Happy New Year to you all and I can’t wait to see you succeed!!!

Excitement, as usual!

Hey everyone!! June 1st, here we are, I feel like I have been in a whirlwind…

As you may know, I am a nurse, I have always had a passion for women’s health, this is why I find such fulfillment in doing boudoir photography, it’s not just pictures, these women walk out of our studio with a new found part of themselves…One that’s brave and fierce, not to mention beautiful!!!  Anyway, you get it, I love what I do!!

When my husband and I got married seven years ago, we went through infertility treatments for a year, I was working in mother/baby at a large hospital…not a great place to work when you want a baby of your own and it won’t happen.  So I left that area and since then have done a few different things in nursing, from insurance work to hospice care.  I had gotten burned out on the whole nursing thing, it is truly exhausting on so many levels.  But then…I applied for a job at WFUBMC’s new Birth Center back in April and was offered a position. I started April 22 and since then it has been crazy lol.  The Birth Center isn’t open yet, and to this day we still haven’t been told the date it will be, but I am super excited about it.  I am glad (in some ways) that we didn’t get pregnant back then, and I have closed that chapter of my life, now on to grand-babies one of the years way in the future, my son graduates high school next Saturday!

My photography has taken a back seat for the past six weeks while I have been training Monday-Friday, but now we are excited to be booking more shoots again. There have still been a few and I am working on getting some fresh pictures out to show you all soon!! We have a couple of spots open for wedding in the fall and for next year as well, we are working on a website for that type of photography too!

Now is the perfect time to book your shoot, we have some specials going on for June, get in touch with us to chat about how we can show you a new side of yourself!!  336-710-8567 or Created Wonderfully Boudoir

We are looking forward to meeting many more and to show people a different side of themselves and help to build more confidence!!  Come be a part of our family in 2019, we have several options available for financing, and we are full service and with you every step of the way!!

For any new visitors here, we have a studio located downtown Mount Airy, NC. We offer full service photography services, we will never leave you stuck on a disk! Give us a call at 336-648-8480!!

Here is a sample of some of the gorgeousness that we have witnessed over the past 365 days…enjoy!!!

Hello stranger…

I am so neglectful of this poor blog lately… My life has been a roller coaster for the past several months and lots of changes have and are taking place.  Have you ever wondered why it has to be so complicated and confusing?  I do it daily, but I have learned a whole lot of life lessons lately, so I guess that is a positive out of all the mess…

Anyway, I am still here taking some amazing women’s photos and helping them to see themselves in a new positive way, and in the process of that, continuing to heal me.

We have a lot of questions about how this experience works, so I thought I would give a little insight into how this process works…

No photos are shared unless you sign a model release, there is a clause in the contract when you book, that if there is an anonymous image, we have permission to use that, but even if you don’t won’t that, we won’t do it.

We have laundered wardrobe options available at the studio for people to borrow, bring a pair of nude or black thongs to wear under anything you use of ours.

Pricing- the normal price for a complete shoot is only $200 and that gets my amazing team primping you up as well!  Prints and products are sold separately and that ranges from $250-$3000, we literally  have something for every budget and we also offer financing!

I have had people ask if we still shoot couples, yessss!!  We love to capture that connection between you and your lover, but still keeping it tasteful!! We will also shoot nudes, but again, tastefully done!  This is art, not dirty stuff!!

Having a boudoir shoot is such an empowering experience and now I can say that from experience!  A while back I had my amazing friend Shelli from Blue Velvet Boudoir take mine in my old studio that I had for three years…there were so many memories in that place that we let go last month, it was a very emotional thing for me and so I am glad I got to have my photos taken there.  Here is a link to them and the password is confidencerocks…

I can now say with conviction (even though I did that before, I am extra convinced now lol) EVERY WOMEN NEEDS TO DO THIS FOR THEMSELVES!!!!  Give us a holler today to book yours!!!

Hellllllooooo!!

Hi people, I am still here, it has been crazy and busy, and crazy busy!!

Since I have last written, I have turned a year older (yay.  thick sarcasm) and got some new ink lol.  I have stepped away from nursing to do my passion, and it was scary, but so fulfilling to be doing my own thing now!! I am loving it!!

We now have a sign for the lingerie shop outside our studio in downtown Mount Airy, NC.  I have my first birth photography shoot lined up later this month and I am so so so excited to be doing that.  I was a postpartum nurse for six and a half years, so this will be getting back to my love of babies and their families.

We have shot lots of women this year for boudoir, give me a call and let me show you some of my most recent work in person and quell all of your fears and insecurities as to why this type of photography IS for you too!! This is such a fun way to bring out some confidence and see yourself in a new, positive way!!

Let’s also take a little walk down memory lane with one of my favorite shoots!!  I just love confident women and this one rocked it!!!  Thanks again S, we need to get you in here again soon!!

We are also booking more weddings this year in NC and beyond, we are also on The Knot!  We are full service and will not leave your images stuck on a disk or USB (which will be obsolete in a few years, photographs don’t do that…) and help you design wall art and albums to last for decades!!

Reach out to us to let us help you with all of your photography needs (except the kiddos lol)…taking appointments for seniors, family, wedding, boudoir, bridals, engagement, divorce, and birth!  Contact us at 336-648-8480 to chat about how we can help you!

Lady A…

I know I say this a lot, but WOW!!  This lady just slayed this shoot!

We want this experience to be about you and your significant other (if you have one, but it’s DEFINITELY not required!!) so we encourage personal props…this was a first, and I hope not the last, to have a full set of drums in our studio!

Thank you A for sharing this with us, you are truly beautiful inside and out!!!

Ready for the wrap…

Where in the heck has this year gone to?  I swear it just seems like yesterday I was gearing up for 2017 and here we are sliding into 2018 already!

This year…wow, I never dreamed up the things that would have occurred in my life.  Lots and lots of personal growth, which is sometimes painful, but oh so rewarding too…I started up the year as a hospice nurse and it was where I needed to be for the time, but ending up the year saying goodbye to hospice and into critical care in a hospital and thinking about travel nursing in the future.

I have learned I do not need to be around negative people who always have something bad to say about others, and have found the coolest circle of people that are amazing and love me and I feel don’t talk about me when I leave their presence.  Which, not that I care if anyone talks about me or not, just don’t need that in my circle lol.

There have been so many changes in this last part of 2017…a new studio, a new lingerie shop, a new job, some new friends, a new view on where my life is going, a new dog (my son’s, but you all know how that ends up, she is mine now lol) and also some big changes coming in 2018 that will be a transition as well…everything I do is a work in progress and if I wasn’t busy all the time, I wouldn’t know how to act lol.

I am so very thankful to all of my clients that I have had the immense pleasure of working with this year, I hope they carry some new confidence with them due, in part, to what we do, but mainly because they have found that inner umph to be what they want to be!!

Here are a few highlights of the past 365 days…I am excited to meet the people that will make up my 2018 and be a highlight of my year in the next 365!!!
